Trio of Pegler Taps Specified in Blyth Valley Housing Company Refurb Project
As part of a large scale refurbishment programme, tenants of Blyth Valley Housing Company properties will see their kitchens and bathrooms renovated to bring them in line with the Government’s Decent Homes Standard.
Around 4,500 council homes managed by the arms length management organisation are being fitted with Pegler taps during the project. Each tenant is being offered a choice of three taps – Polo, a modern style; the more traditional Souvenir; or Performa, a lever operated tap.
Peter Mann, Principal Officer (Architecture) at Blyth Valley said they had enjoyed a long relationship with Pegler: “We’ve been working with Pegler on a variety of projects for around 15 years now and we’ve always been satisfied with the quality, cost and the level of service they have provided with their products.
“Maintaining our reputation for successfully delivering quality housing in the borough relies upon the specification of quality products that are also aesthetically appealing and the three taps we identified have each proved popular among our tenants.”
Pegler’s Area Sales Manager, Mark Pugmire added: “We’ve supplied a wide range of different products over the years, including radiator valves, compression fittings and float-valves and we are delighted that Blyth Valley has now specified our taps on a project that will improve the lives of so many tenants.”
Tapping into Merseyside –Pegler plays a part in Fusion 21 partnership project
A variety of Pegler products are being installed in 85,000 homes that are being refurbished under Fusion 21’s £190m housing maintenance programme - a groundbreaking partnership of seven Merseyside housing associations and Knowsley Council. The project aims to bring homes in the North West up to the Government’s ‘Decent Homes Standard’ during the next seven years.
The Doncaster based company has been chosen to supply products in three of the project’s four ‘work streams’– central heating, kitchens and bathrooms.
During the last two years, Pegler has supplied all the radiator valves and TRVs in the properties. Four ranges of taps have been specified for the kitchens – Mercia, Polo, Leger and Souvenir – all of which will also be specified in the bathrooms along with Performa – depending on the requirements of the individual Registered Social Landlords involved in the project.
Iain Walsh, integrator at Valueworks said: “The Fusion 21 model is very different to the traditional methods of managing regeneration projects. Key to our success was developing partnerships with suppliers who could meet our product quality and commercial requirements but were also prepared to introduce new initiatives into their supply chains. Our decision to select Pegler to supply Fusion 21’s radiator valve, TRV and tap requirements was based upon their reputation for manufacturing quality products, the company culture, enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility.
“The Fusion 21 model has been so successful in delivering RSL regeneration programmes, creating sustainable employment and developing skills that it has scooped four significant Awards in recent months and has been identified as a key contributor to delivering the ODPM efficiency savings targets.”
Pegler’s Divisional Sales Manager, Paul Jones is delighted that Pegler is playing a part in this major project. “This regeneration is already making a difference, with the creation of around 150 new jobs, as well as an improvement in the quality of homes available, so it is great news for the people living and working in the area. It is also great news for Pegler as it is an exciting development to work on.”
